Progress to the past?
The analogue age seems to have just been completed and replaced by digitization. But suddenly there is a turnaround. Vinyl records, analogue photography and Super 8 are as popular as ever. Transrotor has been building top-class turntables since 1976 and has survived “the doldrums” to this day, Kodak returns with the Super 8 movie and analogue expert Jürgen Lossau who opens a store for analogue photography and film in Berlin.
In the forty-minute documentary, we search for the reasons for the resurgence of analogue methods. What are the longings for of the people behind it? What is associated with it in the past? In addition to modern digital technology, is there any justification for the old devices and does the old technic have a future?
